Call for Academic Papers
Researchers from universities and institutions are invited to submit abstracts for presentation at the 2026 GWTTRA Annual Conference.
Submissions are encouraged from tourism and hospitality researchers, graduate students, destination professionals, and other scholars whose work contributes to travel, tourism, hospitality, destination management, or related fields. Both theoretical and applied research are welcome.
Submission Deadline
Final Submission Deadline: September 11, 2026
Submissions are reviewed on a rolling basis, so authors are encouraged to submit before the final deadline whenever possible.
Submission Requirements
Please submit two separate documents:
- Title Page: Include the paper title, author name or names, and institutional affiliation or affiliations.
- Anonymous Abstract: Submit 300 to 600 words, excluding figures, tables, and references. Do not include author names in the abstract. Use 12-point type with either single or double spacing.
Email submissions to mj*****@******co.edu with the subject line GWTTRA Submission.
Presentation Format
Accepted research will be featured through an interactive coffee-break poster format designed to encourage conversation between presenters and conference attendees.
Authors who require a more formal presentation format to meet university or institutional requirements should contact the Academic Chair to discuss available accommodations.
Research Topics
Submissions are welcome across the full range of travel, tourism, hospitality, destination management, and related research. Particular interest is given to work that can provide useful insight for destinations, tourism organizations, policymakers, researchers, and industry professionals.
Original research that has been presented or published previously may be submitted, and research in progress is also welcome.
Student Immersion Program
The GWTTRA Student Immersion Program is designed to introduce graduate students to the tourism research profession through conference participation, learning, and professional networking.
Selected students will receive complimentary conference registration and lodging support, providing an opportunity to participate in the conference and connect directly with tourism researchers and industry professionals.
