About the Panels
TTRA Europe 2027 will feature a series of panel sessions exploring the future of tourism research, strategy, governance, sustainability, innovation, technology, destination development, wellbeing, and regenerative value creation.
The panels are designed to encourage focused discussion and interdisciplinary exchange between academics, destination leaders, tourism professionals, industry partners, and emerging scholars from around the world.
Attendees are encouraged to engage with the panel discussions as part of the broader conference programme, connecting current research, practical insight, and future-focused perspectives across the key themes shaping tourism 2040.

Professor Giampaolo Viglia is Professor of Marketing and Associate Head for Research and Innovation at the School of Strategy, Marketing, and Innovation, Faculty of Business and Law, University of Portsmouth. He is also Professor of Marketing at Università della Valle d’Aosta, Italy. His research focuses on consumer decision-making, pricing, services, tourism, and hospitality marketing.
Associate Professor Elina Michopoulou

Elina Michopoulou is Associate Professor in Business Management at the University of Derby. Her research interests include technological applications and information systems in tourism, online consumer behaviour, accessibility, wellness tourism, and technology acceptance. She is Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Spa and Wellness.

Eleni Skarveli began her tourism career with the Greek National Tourism Organisation and has held senior roles in European tourism marketing. She founded Sustainable Travel AGORA and champions responsible tourism, collaboration, and sustainability-focused destination promotion.
Professor Alan Fyall

Professor Alan Fyall is Associate Dean Academic Affairs and Visit Orlando Endowed Chair of Tourism Marketing at the Rosen College of Hospitality Management, University of Central Florida.
