The Travel and Tourism Research Association is bringing its 57th Annual International Conference to Seattle, Washington, June 29 to July 1, 2027, at the Sheraton Grand Seattle.
Under the theme Elevating the Future of Travel Research: Innovation, Analysis, Strategy & Advocacy, Seattle 2027 will bring together researchers, destination leaders, industry professionals, academics, and partners to explore how stronger research and better evidence can help shape the future of travel and tourism.
Four Areas of Focus
The 2027 conference will focus on four interconnected areas that reflect the changing role of research across the travel and tourism industry.
Innovation
Emerging technologies, artificial intelligence, new data sources, and evolving research methods that are changing how we understand travel and tourism.
Analysis
How we collect, integrate, measure, interpret, and apply data to better understand destinations, visitors, communities, and the broader visitor economy.
Strategy
Research that informs planning, investment, organizational priorities, destination management, and better decision-making.
Advocacy
Evidence that strengthens industry narratives, stakeholder engagement, policy discussions, and funding support.

TTRA is now inviting practitioners and academics to contribute to the 2027 conference program and share the research, insights, case studies, and ideas shaping the future of the industry.
Call for Practitioner Presentations
Practitioner submissions are now open, with presentation formats designed to showcase research-driven insights, real-world applications, case studies, and evidence that can help others take action.
Submission deadline: November 23, 2026
Call for Academic Papers
The Academic Call for Papers opens October 19, 2026, welcoming rigorous and relevant research across the full range of travel, tourism, hospitality, destination, and visitor experience topics.
A variety of presentation formats will provide opportunities to share completed research as well as work in development and progress.
Submission deadline: December 28, 2026
