TTRA Election Results

INTERNATIONAL BOARD OF DIRECTORS’ ELECTION RESULTS

March 20, 2026

The Travel and Tourism Research Association (TTRA) is pleased to announce the results of the 2026 Board of Directors election. Members recently participated in the annual process to elect three Directors to serve on the International Board.

The candidates receiving the highest level of support from the membership and elected to serve three-year terms beginning July 1, 2026, are:

Steve Cohen, Travel Portland
John Picou, Visit Anaheim
Kimberly Vince-Cruz, Future Partners

TTRA also confirms the election of Jeff Dalley, Tourism Insight Limited, as International Board Second Vice President.

In addition, Sarah Ferguson, SMARInsights, will serve as Chapter Liaison, a two-year role supporting coordination and communication between TTRA’s global chapters and the International Board.

These leaders will help guide the association as it continues to strengthen its global community of travel and tourism research, insight, and leadership.

TTRA extends sincere appreciation to all candidates who participated in this year’s election. Their willingness to contribute time, expertise, and leadership reflects the strength and engagement of the TTRA community.

Newly elected Board members will be invited to attend the June Board meeting as guests as they prepare to begin their terms.

In addition to the Board election results, members also approved two bylaw amendments designed to strengthen governance clarity and operational flexibility.

The amendments introduce provisions allowing Board and Executive Committee meetings to be conducted electronically in circumstances such as severe weather, natural disasters, or other emergencies that make in-person meetings impractical.

Members also approved the addition of clearer expectations regarding in-person attendance at scheduled Board meetings, reinforcing the importance of active participation in governance responsibilities.

These updates reflect TTRA’s ongoing commitment to strong governance practices and responsive leadership.

TTRA thanks all members who took part in the election and encourages continued involvement through chapters, committees, and future leadership opportunities.

Sincerely,

Sean T. Ruane
TTRA Past President & Chair of Nominating Committee
