The Travel and Tourism Research Association (TTRA) is proud to open nominations for the inaugural class of TTRA Fellows. The TTRA Fellow Program is a new and prestigious academic honor created to recognize individuals whose scholarship, leadership, and sustained engagement have shaped both TTRA and the broader tourism research community. Fellows will serve as mentors, thought leaders, and ambassadors who advance global tourism knowledge and strengthen academic–industry collaboration.

Becoming a TTRA Fellow is a recognition of excellence. Fellows are honored onstage at the Annual Conference, receive reduced conference registration, and join a community of leaders committed to advancing tourism research and supporting the next generation of scholars. As members of the inaugural 2026 academic cohort, selected Fellows will help set the foundation for this important program and play a defining role in shaping its long-term impact.

  • Hold a doctoral degree.
  • Be a current TTRA member in good standing.
  • Demonstrate significant and active involvement in TTRA for at least 10 years.
  • Show outstanding contributions to TTRA, the tourism academia, and academic–industry collaboration.
  • Maintain ongoing engagement in tourism research, including regular participation and leadership in TTRA conferences or initiatives.
  • Have a record of mentoring early‑career researchers and students.
  • Demonstrate continued commitment to TTRA’s mission and community.

Nominations open January 7, 2026. Individuals may be nominated by colleagues, committee members, or may self‑nominate. A complete nomination packet must include:

  • A curriculum vitae
  • A nomination letter of up to two pages
  • Two letters of support

All materials must be submitted by February 17, 2026.

The Fellow Selection Committee, comprised of TTRA Lifetime Award winners, will review all nomination materials using the official criteria. Selections will be finalized and announced by the end of April 2026. The inaugural class of TTRA Fellows will be honored onstage at the 2026 TTRA Annual International Conference in Greenville, South Carolina, June 24-26, 2026.

TTRA is honored to launch this program and invites nominations for those whose careers reflect the highest levels of scholarship, service, collaboration, and impact. We look forward to celebrating the inaugural class of TTRA Fellows in Greenville.
