Marketing Outlook Forum - Awards

Marketing Outlook Forum (MOF) 2025 is set for January 27-29 in Fort Worth, Texas. The brightest minds in travel and tourism will gather to shape the industry’s future, gain insights from leading experts, and network with top professionals.

Recognizing extraordinary contributions in tourism marketing, the MOF Awards celebrate both individuals and organizations making a difference. Don’t miss this chance to be celebrated among the industry’s elite!

Award Categories:

  • CHERYL SCHUTZ AWARD FOR DESTINATION MARKETING AND RESEARCH EXCELLENCE
    • Purpose: Recognizes a Destination Marketing Organization (DMO) or individual for research-backed decisions that positively impact travel and tourism.
    • Requirements: Must be a DMO or tourism industry professional. Submissions include a one-to-two-page summary detailing the research, goals, measurable impacts, and creative efforts.
    • Prize: Plaque, one-year TTRA Organizational membership, two hours consulting with MMGY Travel Intelligence team, and $500.

  • EMERGING LEADER RISING STAR AWARD
    • Purpose: Acknowledges a rising leader in the travel and tourism industry for their commitment and leadership.
    • Requirements: Nominees must be early-career professionals, nominated by a TTRA member, with at least one year in the industry. Nominations should include examples of the nominee’s accomplishments and leadership qualities.
    • Prize: Plaque; complimentary 2025 MOF registration; 1 year Premier membership (if not already a TTRA member); hotel accommodations for up to 3 nights; $150 for incidentals.

  • J. DESMOND SLATTERY PROFESSIONAL MARKETING AWARD
    • Purpose: Honors a professional for significant contributions to travel marketing at a national or state level.
    • Requirements: Open to travel marketing professionals, judged on their program’s originality, outcomes, and excellence. Nominations can be submitted by colleagues or as self-nominations.
    • Prize: Plaque; complimentary 2025 MOF registration; 1 year Premier membership (if not already a TTRA member) and $500.

  • JOHN & JOAN MARKHAM TOURISM MARKETING AWARD
    • Purpose: Created in honor of the Markhams’ commitment to TTRA, this award supports a student researching tourism marketing trends.
    • Requirements: Open to undergraduate or master’s students. Submissions require a five-page paper on future trends in destination marketing, along with two recommendation letters.
    • Prize: Plaque, 1 year student membership; complimentary 2025 MOF registration; airfare; hotel accommodations for up to 3 nights; $150 for incidentals.
