Sticky Rice with Custard and Mango Description: Thai dessert recipes are known as a mix of shapes, colors, and flavors, especially Sticky Rice with Custard. Thai custard also comes in many variations, like taro, pandan, pumpkin, and Thai coconut custard. Mango sticky rice is also a classic traditional Thai dessert. The sweet sticky rice is made from steamed glutinous rice and coconut milk. The rice is topped with salted coconut sauce and crispy mung beans. The mango is simply fresh and delicious! |

ChuenJai (refreshing): A twist recipe from “Cha Yen”, the traditional Thai Iced Tea. Zaab Eli Cocktail: Inspiration from Tom Yum Soup. Tom Yum is hot, spicy, and sour. The protein can be chicken, shrimp, beef, pork, or tofu. |

Dr Prachi Thakur is a TED speaker and an academic at the School of Hospitality and Service Management, Sunway University, Malaysia. She has over 32 Thousand followers on LinkedIn and has been invited to speak at multiple universities across the world, which include Washington State University and Florida Atlantic University in the USA, Torrens University and William Angliss Institute in Australia, and Sunway University and University of Philippines in Asia. She is also a graduate of LinkedIn’s Inaugural Creator Accelerator Program in India, where she was personally coached for insider techniques of the platform.
Dr Thakur is also an avid researcher and the Managing Editor for Tourism Management Perspectives (A Category Journal). She has published in multiple journals and is currently collaborating with researchers from Spain, Australia, the UK, and South Korea, all of whom she met on LinkedIn.

Part 2 – The current landscape of academic publishing (1030-1130hrs)
Dr Aaron Tham is a Senior Lecturer and Subject Component Lead in Tourism, Leisure and Events at the School of Business and Creative Industries, University of the Sunshine Coast, Australia. He has received some of the highest teaching accolades in the form of the Senior Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy in 2021. Aaron has also initiated and led cross-institutional teaching and assessment practices, has teaching experience across several Asian countries, and is also the Council for Australasian Tourism and Hospitality Education (CAUTHE) Teaching and Learning Special Interest Group Co-Lead.
Aaron is also the Capability Development Track Lead at the University’s Indigenous and Transcultural Research Centre. He is a Co-Director of the Southeast Asia Research Academy (SEARA), one of the International Congress and Convention Association Ambassadors, and the CAUTHE Executive Secretary. He has guest-edited 5 special issues and published more than 70 papers, several housed in Emerald journals. Aaron won an Emerald Publishing Commendation for Research Excellence Award in 2023. In other roles, Aaron is on the Committee for Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Legacy Taskforce, and in December 2023, was elected as President of the Travel and Tourism Research Association Asia Pacific (TTRA APac) Chapter.
In this workshop, Aaron will share insights into academic publishing based on his experience as an author, reviewer, and editor in academic journals. This session will also feature how Emerald Publishing can help support scholars in their research journeys.
