Charles R. Goeldner Article of Excellence Award:

The Charles R. Goeldner Article of Excellence Award is named after the founding editor of the Journal of Travel Research, Chuck Goeldner. A pivotal figure in the field, Chuck was instrumental in establishing TTRA and served as the photographer and historian for the conference for decades. This award, sponsored by Sage Publishing, is presented to the authors of the article judged to be the best published in the Journal of Travel Research in 2023.

Congratulations to Akamavi, R. K., Ibrahim, F., & Swaray, R. for their paper titled “Tourism and troubles: Effects of security threats on the global travel and tourism industry performance”, published in the Journal of Travel Research, 62(8), 1755-1800.
