Beyond Sustainable: An Exploration of Regenerative Travel

The global pandemic has prompted much talk of a reset, yet conversations were already turning to ways that we can do tourism differently. In regions like Asia-Pacific and Europe, Regenerative Travel is THE hot topic.   TTRA is very much part of this process!  After Professor Pauline Sheldon’s 2019 TTRA International keynote sounded the call to arms, it became a key part of the TTRA Research Agenda.   But it’s also clear that many in tourism are grappling with what this means and how it changes their practice – particularly if they are new to the topic.  This session will aim to gather us all around the campfire to share knowledge on Regenerative Travel from global experts.  Whether it is the first time you have heard the term or you’re well on this way, this session will inform your decisions about Regenerative Tourism.
