TTRA Partner Webinar with Arrivalist.

Vacation Rentals – Airbnb Greed or a Community Catalyst?

Thursday, December 14, 2023.

Join us Thursday, December 14, at 2:00 PM ET for this webinar with TTRA Partner Arrivalist.

Since Arrivalist’s acquisition by AirDNA, many have asked us, “Why Vacation Rentals? Why now?” It’s time to outline how we followed the data into the Short Term Rental space. Tune in to find out 1) What we learned from the data, 2) Where the space is going, and 3) What vacation rental insights – combined with location data – mean for DMOs and the communities we serve.

This multi-part webinar  – led by Cree Lawson, Bram Gallagher, and Megan Suardini, will cover the following:

  • Part 1: What were we thinking? Learn why AirDNA’s recent acquisition of Arrivalist is timed to give our clients what they need.
  • Part 2: True or False – What are the prevailing notions of Vacation Rentals? Do they hold water? We’ll follow the data and discuss the true impact of vacation rentals on communities, advocacy, and the industry’s future.
  • Part 3: A Peek into the Future – Get a sneak peek of our 2024 launch of Market Forecasting. AirDNA Senior Economist Bram Gallagher will share the 2024 tourism outlook, and unveil a new feature that allows Arrivalist clients to use our data to peer into the future – for the very first time.

Meet the Presenters:

Cree Lawson

Futurist and Destination Advocate

Cree Lawson was born in Harlan, KY, and raised in Nashville, TN. Naturally curious, Cree’s first words were, “What is it?” Along with his parents – both college professors – Lawson spent most of his summers on long road trips and has visited all 50 states. Lawson has been a nationally recognized business reporter, an investigative journalist, a donut shop cleaner, a cross country runner, an Academic All-American, a pet shop cage cleaner, a music critic for Billboard Magazine (briefly), and editor of his college newspaper. He’s also started 6 companies, including one of INC Magazines’ 500 Fastest Growing companies and Arrivalist, which was acquired by AirDNA in 2023. He currently serves as Futurist and Destination Advocate and travels the country sharing insights on emerging trends in travel and the economy. Lawson’s passion is using data as a lens to measure the world around us – especially the life-transforming experience of travel. He lives with the love of his life and two very unruly boys in Naples, Florida.

Bram Gallagher

Economist

Bram began working in hospitality data in 2015 when he joined CBRE, then known as PKF Hospitality Research, as a hotel economist. For the next seven years, he would produce national hotel performance forecasts, build new data products, and perform consulting work for hotel companies and DMOs, using his training as a UGA Economics Ph.D. to ensure the analysis was rigorous and valid.

In 2022, Bram left CBRE to explore different aspects of the industry and was very excited at the opportunity to work with his long-time colleague Jamie Lane again at AirDNA. Bram currently works on developing short-term rental forecasts and researching regulatory implications in the short-term rental market.

Bram writes thought leadership pieces that focus on hospitality data analysis and has been published in Lodging Magazine, Hotel Business Review, and the Cornell Hospitality Quarterly. He is also an accomplished speaker and has spoken for the Atlanta Hospitality Alliance, Georgia Hotel and Lodging Association, Savannah Chapter of GHLA, Cobb Travel & Tourism, numerous CBRE Hotels Research presentations, ARES, HFTP, and the TTRA 2023 Marketing Outlook Forum.
