If you’re looking for a more active and adventurous day, rent bicycles to explore the city’s many paths and trails or hit the water for an afternoon of whale watching.

Don’t miss Butchart Gardens – world-renowned for its 55 acres of year-round, spectacular floral displays and theme gardens!

GETTING TO VICTORIA:

Victoria is easily accessible from any arrival point, including the ferry terminals and airports.

Located on the southern tip of Vancouver Island, BC’s Capital City is easily accessible by sea, air, or by land if you’re already on the Island. Airports and ferry terminals provide various points of entry to Victoria and the Island.

From the Victoria International Airport and Swartz Bay ferry terminal, Highway 17 (Patricia Bay Highway) becomes Blanshard Street and will take you directly into downtown Victoria. Highway 1, the Trans- Canada Highway, begins in Victoria, just south of the downtown core at the intersection of Douglas Street and Dallas Road. Highway 1 is a direct route from Victoria up the east coast of Vancouver Island to Nanaimo where the only marine link in the Trans-Canada Highway requires ferry travel to traverse to Horseshoe Bay on the mainland, connecting travellers to the Vancouver area.

One of the best things about Victoria as an incredible island destination is the journey itself. The only tough part is having to leave.

Whether you’re looking for convenience, affordability, or comfort, Victoria and Vancouver Island are well served by transportation carriers. Go the ferry route for a relaxing, scenic cruise, hop on a floatplane or helicopter and enjoy breathtaking aerial views, or fly directly to the Victoria airport—one of the world’s friendliest.
