CALL FOR PAPERS:

QUALITATIVE RESEARCH METHODS WORKSHOP

NOW CLOSED

Travel and Tourism Research Association
53rd Annual International Conference

St. Louis, Missouri, United States. June 13-15, 2023
Abstract Submission Deadline: February 5, 2023

We are thrilled to announce the 9th TTRA Qualitative Research Methods Workshop! The overall conference theme is GATEWAY TO THE FUTURE: How research, data & technology are changing the way strategic decisions are being made by destination and tourism organizations. The content for this year’s qualitative workshop will follow alongside this theme focusing on Envisioning the Future: progresses and challenges in a changing world, however, we welcome all submissions based on qualitative methods and data. We welcome innovative methodological approaches, critical assessments of tourism and other creative methodologies.

This year’s conference will be in–person. The qualitative workshop is designed to provide opportunities for attendees to learn from each other through roundtable presentations that focus on discussion and engagement with a small audience. These roundtable presentations do not utilize powerpoints, but rather other presentation aids are encouraged (e.g., audio files, short videos, photographs, interactive methods, etc.). In addition, workshop attendees will participate in hands-on learning activities and discussions with a featured qualitative keynote speaker.

We invite you to submit extended abstracts (3,000 words max) for presentations at the 2023 TTRA Qualitative Research Methods Workshop. Abstracts for the workshop should follow the guidelines for all TTRA academic abstract submissions through ScholarWorks. When submitting your abstract on Scholarworks please use the dropdown menu to indicate your submission for the qualitative research methods workshop.
