RRC Associates is a multidisciplinary market research and planning firm located in Boulder, Colorado. We are searching for a Data Analyst to assist with a variety of studies and projects, particularly in the areas of mountain resort tourism, snow sports, and parks, recreation, open space and trails planning.
Responsibilities for this position include coordination of individual research efforts on a variety of fronts, survey programming and fielding, managing data retrieval remotely, monitoring data quality, processing and cleaning of survey data, and generation of both tabular and graphical data summaries.
The successful applicant will have had experience working and processing large datasets, be detail oriented, and enjoy working in, and contributing to, a strong team environment. Some or all of the following specialized knowledge, skills, and abilities are desirable:

This position is ADVERTISED as located in the Department of Commerce, Office of Textiles and Apparel in the Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Textiles, Consumer Goods and Materials, International Trade Administration (ITA). The incumbent will have a foundational knowledge of international trade policy, economics, and/or statistical analysis with a desire to learn about OTEXA areas of specialization. Applicants should describe their interest and experience in working in the National Travel and Tourism Office and assisting the office in travel research and travel policy programs.
However, note that the National Travel and Tourism Office can also evaluate applicants for a similar position in the NTTO supporting the Research and Analysis program. Additional information about the NTTO can be found at travel.trade.gov.Qualifications:
Degree: economics, that included at least 21 semester hours in economics and 3 semester hours in statistics, accounting, or calculus.
Combination of education and experience: courses equivalent to a major in economics, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
Evaluation of Experience
Examples of qualifying experience include:
1.individual economic research assignments requiring planning, information assembly, analysis and evaluation, conclusions and report preparation;
2.supervisory or project coordination assignments involving a staff of professional economists, and requiring the evaluation and interpretation of economic information; or
3.teaching assignments in a college or university that included both class instruction in economics subjects and one of the following (1) personal research that produced evidence of results, (2) direction of graduate theses in economics, or (3) service as a consultant or advisor on technical economics problems.
Experience in related fields that did not involve the use and understanding of economic principles and theories may not be used as qualifying experience for these positions. Special attention on this point should be given to certain types of work that may or may not have provided professional economic experience. The following examples of work require special care in such determinations:
3.management of individual business enterprises, including farms;
5.writing or editorial work in economic subjects; and
6.financial market analysis.
NOTE: Education and experience may be combined for all grade levels for which both education and experience are acceptable.
In addition to meeting the Individual Occupational Requirements, applicants must also have one year of specialized experience at the next lower grade level.
